Candied Pecans
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire… Okay maybe these aren’t chestnuts… and we’re definitely not roasting them on an open fire. But warm nuts make such a great Christmastime snack. So we’re sharing our Candied Pecan recipe with today and wishing you the merriest holiday!
Candied Pecans
Ingredients—
½ Cup Granulated Sugar
½ Cup Light Brown Sugar
2 TBSP Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Salt
16oz Pecan Halves
1 Large Egg White
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tsp water
Directions—
Step #1—
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step #2—
Add sugars, cinnamon, and salt to a bowl. Whisk to combine.
Step #3—
In a separate bowl, beat the egg white, vanilla, and water with a whisk attachment until stiff peaks form. Add pecans to the egg white mixture and, using a rubber spatula, gently toss to coat. Pour pecans into sugar mixture and carefully stir until pecans are well coated.
Step #4—
Spread the pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for about 40-45 minutes, tossing every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. Then enjoy! Bonus, your house will smell absolutely amazing.
