Opening Week Recap AND Tickets

We closed out our second open weekend at the farm today and are still so amazed at all that has happened! We love having our land busy and bustling. And we really love seeing all your smiling faces again!

We enjoyed record numbers of strawberries opening weekend. They are so plump and so juicy this year. Perfect for picking. The heat has slowed their growth some, so they’re completely picked for now. But as soon as we get a break from the heat, and they start blooming again, we’ll let you know!

Our Quonset is full of life too. Our baby animals are growing quickly. The miniature donkey and longhorn cow are the highlights of the day. And our playful goats are just waiting to eat from your feed cup. The animals are always a farm favorite, but this year guests are really enjoying the indoor spaces and sweet new furry faces.

Opening weekend, we were also able to host our first ever Pizza and Pie Night for our season ticket holders! Farmer Ty turned out to be the best pizza maker. And everyone who attended enjoyed wood-fire pizzas and fresh strawberry pie. It was so great to have people out at the farm during the evening, when the weather cools down. Our sunsets are some of the best in Nebraska and the one during Pizza and Pie Night did not disappoint!

We’re gearing up for our next Pizza and Pie Night this Friday! And this week, we’re opening it up to everyone! You can grab your tickets ahead of time and come hungry Friday night at 6:00pm. Once you place your order in Pam’s Kitchen, you’ll be able to explore the farm, take a barrel train ride or go for a hayrack ride while we prepare it. Then we’ll text you when it’s ready. Grab your tickets HERE.

We rounded out these last couple weeks with our first Farm to Table Supper of the season! The weather was stormy and rainy all Friday, so we worried about what the evening would be like. But the rain dried up and the temps cooled down. And we ended up with the most perfect June evening. Saturday evening was just as lovely, and the weather in the evening cooled down right on time.

We celebrated a dairy inspired menu for Dairy Month both evenings. Chef Katie whipped up the tastiest Charcuterie Board featuring Midwest cheeses and deli meats to start with, followed by Slow Roasted Creamy Chicken, Mushroom Orzo and Crispy Zucchini and Squash Chips—which were a favorite of the night. Attendees enjoyed a hayrack ride around the farm at dusk. And we finished with farm trivia and a delicious Farmer’s Cheese twist with homemade Strawberry Rhubarb Jam and Vanilla Ice Cream.

The evenings were wonderfully sweet. We had the best time. And we hope those that joined us did too. We can’t wait to do it again next month! Tickets go on sale this week for July’s Farm to Table. Fair warning, they do sell out quickly! If you’re interested in joining us, be ready to grab them as soon as they go live.

Friendly reminder, Newsletter Subscribers get first chance at all ticketed events. So, if you’re hoping to snag some July Farm to Table tickets, signing up for the newsletter is your best bet!

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by the farm, picked up produce at one of our stands, or told their friends and family about us! We cannot do this without you and just love having you along with us for this wild journey. Can’t wait to see you all again soon!
