Something New
Winter is technically our off season, but that doesn’t mean we stop working. To be honest, work never stops on the farm. There are always animals to feed, fields to tend, projects that build up until we have some focused time to dedicate to them. But this winter, we’ve been working on something extra special…. A NEW KITCHEN!
After three seasons of hamburgers and Little Farmer meals and serving everything out of the same space we were putting it all together in, we knew we had to change something about our kitchen situation. While we loved how functional our old space was, as the Farm keeps growing and our imaginations keep dreaming, we knew more space was absolutely essential.
We broke ground for the new building late fall and have made great progress over these very mild months. The new kitchen will be triple the size of our last building and include a huge walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer. Boy, do we have plans for those!
For instance, we cannot wait to freeze our fresh produce as it ripens. Peaches, strawberries, watermelon and more. With the ability to store it frozen, and keep the integrity of the fruits or veggies, we can continue using our lush summer produce as long as we want. Or prep fall product way in advance. Plus, there will be more room to move around and work—which will make all of us happy!
This is a big celebration for us as we’ve been dreaming about this remodel almost since we opened. It’s been so fun to watch it come together this winter. We just can’t wait to have you all back to the Farm so you can officially christen the new kitchen. We’re so excited to serve you out of it, and to continue making Pam’s Kitchen a delicious must-do while you spend the day, and the season, with us.
